Ava 3, Roman 1...mommy tired!

My Beautiful Ava

All I can say is how much I love you...

Roman Quincy is 4 months old!

These kids astound me every day. Roman has been holding his head steady for a long time and is such a solid little baby. He is grabbing for things and almost holds his bottle! I can't wait until he is 1 and Ava is 3, it will be such a great time in our house!

Roman Quincy is here!

Shaun came home on May 17th and spent a week with me and Ava before Roman arrived. I was induced on May 25th. Roman was born May 25th 2010 at 12:28 pm. He weighed 5 lbs 15 oz and is 19 1/2 inches long. I really thought Ava would struggle with her new little brother but she adapts and proves me wrong every time. She is really interested in him and likes to help me with him. She is still a little rough around him, but we are working on that. Shaun is back in Afghan and will be home when Roman is 9 months old which is the same age Ava was when he got back from Iraq. I will be sure to post pics as he grows.

Deployment

Shaun left yesterday but he will be back in May so I don't feel bad. I think the 2nd part of his deployment will be harder since Roman will be here and Ava is an active toddler! We did get a chance to take some family pics before he left which I will put in Roman's Picaboo book.

2010

I have not been here in awhile but it is definitely time for an updated post! 2010 is such a big year for us as a family. Shaun will be deploying again in March. Roman Quincy Washington will be born sometime in May and Ava turns 2 on May 31st. WOW is all I can say! I will be strong for my baby girl and she is so great that I know she will be fine. I am glad both of the kids will be young when he returns and hopefully won't eve remember he ever left.

5.31.2008 ~ 5.31.2009

Wow, what a year it has been. I gave birth to this beautiful little person on 5.31.2008. I had to call the Red Cross to get her daddy home from Iraq. She was earlier than we expected and definitely smaller than we expected, 4 lbs and 11 ounces to be exact. Now we fast forward to 5.31.2009.
  • Her daddy has been home for about 4 months.
  • She shakes her head No
  • She moves her head from side to side in her own way of dancing
  • She stands up all the time and crawls all over the place
  • She laughs, giggles and squeals when being tickled
She is just the little person with a little attitude sometimes. Life has changed for the better, 1 year ago today!

Daddy is home and doing just fine :)

Shaun has been home for about 2 days now and received the first kiss from Ava! (mommy has not even received a first kiss yet!) He was gone for 15 months but it made me appreciate him that much more. He is still settling in but they share many smiles and laughs between each other, it is very sweet. We are glad to be a whole family again! We will continue to move forward and look forward to every day and all our new memories together.

My baby is not staying a baby

Daddy will be home in less than a week and Ava seems to be doing new stuff all the time. She totally gives herself kisses in the mirror but won't give mommy a single kiss? She dances and moves her head from side to side on beat...LOL.
She loves Spaghetti and Cheese Organic stage 3 baby food. Her and Sophia play fetch in their own little way. Her giggle is enough to make anyone laugh!

3 Weeks

We have about 3 weeks left until the return of her father...we are counting down the days! She has grown so much from the last he saw her in June. We have made it this far and look forward to our future as a family again.

Ava Luciana

About Ava Luciana ~ she came early and was smaller than we could have ever imagined. 4 pounds, 11 ounces. She has become the love of my life next to her father. It's tough telling him of her new teeth or of her new crawling adventures while on the phone. We wait and wait for him to return home safely...we love him with all of our hearts...
